Business Safety Tips

This past week two 32nd Ward hospitality businesses were victims of burglary and theft. One was in the Lakeview area (19th Police District) and the other in Bucktown (14th Police District). At this point, there is not a direct connection between these two events, but it seems like a good time to remind businesses of some safety measures they can take.

My staff and I work to make all of our 32nd Ward communities safe with vibrant business communities so this is beyond disappointing to see. We will continue to work with the officers and detectives trying to track down the offenders. I strongly suggest that each business install a camera system or other preventative measures. If you need assistance, each police district can help with advice on camera installation or other security measures that can be taken.

If anyone witnesses a crime or knows anything, please contact the appropriate police department listed below. Remember if you see something, say something by calling 911 and reporting suspicious activity.
